SURVEY TYPE: LEAD MONITORING

LEGAL REQUIREMENT AND STANDARDS

The survey will be carried out in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993 – Lead Regulations.

LEAD REGULATIONS

“Occupational exposure limit for lead, in the case of tetraethyl lead”, means an exposure limit of
0.10 mg lead per cubic meter of air, measured in accordance with the health and safety standard.

SAMPLING METHOD: Tetraethyl Lead – NIOSH 2533

SAMPLING PROCEDURES- Sampling pumps with XAD 2 tubes will be attached within the breathing zones of employees identified as highest risk employees and at pre- selected sampling points that represent the concentrations of TEL in the atmosphere.
